Lake City has some great hunting in the fall, Not to mention the girls collage in Gunnison just down the highway.

(Otherwise a very nice article)

As a photographer who is more than proficient with Photoshop, I suspect that several of the photographs have increased levels of saturation and contrast. In at least one instance, the photograph appears to be processed using HDR.

Each photographer must make his own choice as to how to process a photograph. In my case, I add contrast, but not too much saturation. Having said that, contrast can increase saturation. My overall philosophy is never too push the adjustments beyond the point that in my words “I can no longer sell it” In other words, it is no longer believable. However, I have captured scenes that without making any adjustment I find unbelievable. Sometimes the light is just right.

Too many photographers forget that color carries a wow factor, but people often grow tired of the photograph quickly. Many times, monochrome is the better route.

When you have a limited time to travel, it’s hard to see the major cities and get out to see other areas too, but the times I have been able to do that have been wonderful.
I would add Giverny, France to the list – it’s tiny, but worth the trip alone for Monet’s home and gardens, but there’s also a nice little museum, some shops and restaurants, and the flowers everywhere are amazing.

Frascati? If it’s the same place, I went there on a day trip about 15 years ago, and it was nice. Great wine too.
Tivoli was another great place to see- Villa d’Este and Hadrian’s Villa are beautiful.

I’ve not been to Toledo, but agree that Bruges is lovely. As Roger said, it’s probably considered too big a town for this list.

If that ruined your Big Sur trip you are hard to please. If it’s sunny on that stretch of coast magic is present for 50 unspoiled miles. For me McWay is only another marvel along Highway One.

All in Gunnison COUNTY, mind you, but they didn’t come out of Blue Mesa Reservoir.
